Dup-A-Look 4

I seem to be doing these Dup-A-Look posts more.  I think I’m finally getting the hang of it!  Here’s what I’m wearing today…

I wanted to duplicate this look so bad, I actually pinned it twice (I’ve since deleted the duplicate pin, haha)!  The look is from the Hush Autumn/Winter 2011 catalog (which you can see here on page 57), but I saw it first on Pinterest, where I immediately knew I’d duplicate it.  It was comfy and soft looking.  I figured it’d be perfect for a weekend, but it ended up being perfect for today.  It’s going to be in the low 50’s today, and I’ve got a cold, so this look was perfect for work.  Comfy and cozy, lots of layers, and still nice enough to not feel out of place at the office (which is awesomely casual).

I layered a soft cotton blend drapey top under a natural colored henley I picked up a few years ago at Heritage 1981, and let some of the drapiness (so a word) peek out.  Over that, I added an open waffle-knit cardigan my husband got me for the holidays one year at Gap, and a grey Michael Kors scarf (a TJ Maxx score).  I added some distressed ‘leather’ leggings from Forever21 and my brown riding boots from Kohl’s, which I tied in with my brown glasse).  I’m not wearing any makeup at all today (not even mascara, which is my “must wear” thing).  I just didn’t remotely feel like it this morning.  I did embrace the messy hair look from the original as well… something I’m starting to do more and more.  I kinda like it.

Anyway, I’m super happy with this outfit and the look in general (minus the no makeup part LOL).  Not only am I really comfortable in it, but the textures are fantastic and really adds some interest to an otherwise very simple and basic outfit.

Here’s a quick shot of all the awesome textures I’ve got rockin’ today.  Oh, and the lavender streaks in my hair (which have faded nicely over the last week), since I opted to part my hair on the “fun” side today.

Shout out to Laurie at The Green Buddha Salon out in Wheaton for doing my lavender streaks!  I absolutely love them!

I love it. My favorite is the chunky thick scarf…it would be so perfect for me here in michigan.
