Eyebrows are having a moment. Who am I kidding? Brows have been in the beauty spotlight for awhile now, and justifiably so, since they really do frame your face and help you look more put together. While it’s important to keep a handle on your shape, via waxing, plucking, or threading, refining your brow shape using tools like pencils, powders, highlighters, and gels help show off your on fleekness.
Billion Dollar Brows Helps Keep Your #BrowsOnFleek Without Breaking the Bank
Billion Dollar Brows‘ philosophy is that everyone deserves to look great, brows and all, and that beautiful brows are a right, not a privilege. Because of that, they price their brow products fairly, so you can get the brows you deserve without breaking the bank.
Thanks to BrandBacker, I was able to give two great Billion Dollar Brows sets a run for their money. The first set I got was the 60 Seconds to Beautiful Brows Kit, which retails for just $24 and includes one Brow Powder in Taupe and one dual-ended Brow Brush (a $34 value). All you do with this kit is dip the angled brush in the powder, glide the brush along your brow line, and then blend the powder with the spoolie end of the brush. Literally, 60 seconds of work to help refine your brows.
I also received the Best Sellers Kit, which includes the self-sharpening Universal Brow Pencil (which has a spoolie brush on the other end), the Brow Duo Pencil (a concealing/highlighting duo that’s great for on-the-go touch ups), a clear Brow Gel (for keeping brows in place), and a flat Smudge Brush (perfect for blending creamy cosmetics, like the Brow Duo Pencil). The Best Sellers Kit retails for $42, but is a $68 value.
Up until recently, I kind of ignored my eyebrows. I mean, I had the shaped regularly, but didn’t really feel the need to color them in. Between my bangs and my quick morning beauty routine, I just didn’t think it was necessary. Then I sat through a brow tutorial during a beauty day at Nordstrom and realized I was seriously neglecting a very important part of my face. Even with my bangs, filling in my brows really made a difference. Thus began a new morning routine.
For an everyday look, the 60 Seconds to Beautiful Brows Kit is perfect for me. The taupe color of the Brow Powder works nicely with my skintone and hair color(s), and it’s smooth and super easy to apply using the angled brush. When I do my brows, I start off with using a spoolie to brush all my hairs in the same direction so I can easily follow the shape. The dual-sided brush that comes with the 60 Seconds to Beautiful Brows Kit is nice for traveling too, which I’ve been doing a fair amount of lately, because I can toss one brush in my bag instead of two.
When I’m between waxings, I used to kind of shrug and not worry too much about it, plucking a stray hair here and there. I discovered that the concealer end of the Brow Duo Pencil actually helps cover up some of those finer hairs that aren’t quite pluck-worthy, so I’ve started using that when I need it. It’s also great for covering up the little red broken blood vessel you see on the side of my nose.
After blending out the concealer with the Smudge Brush, I use the angled end of the Brow Brush and the taupe Brow Powder to shape my brows, and then I’m on my way.
I find I feel a little more put together, even if I’ve just got a swipe of mascara and a little blush on, when I have my brows defined, than when I don’t. So for everyday, I’ll stop here and carry on. But sometimes, you just want a more dramatic look. The Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil can help add a little more definition, and the highlighter can help brighten eyes and add lift. I like to use it under my brows.
And I finish it all off with a swipe of the clear Brow Gel. While the gel is great on its own, for a quick control of things when necessary, I feel like finishing a dramatic brow look off with it kind of helps seal everything in and keep things in place. I like to think of it like hairspray for my brows.
When I do a darker brow, I like to keep my eyes a little less dramatic. Since my brows are closer to my eyes, it helps prevent things from muddying together and making me look like some kind of raccoon. For this look, I went with a grey eyeliner, a slightly smoked light grey and nude eye, and black mascara. Nice and simple, without taking the focus off of my fab brows.
So there’s a more dramatic brow look, complete with eye makeup. I kept my lips simple too, just going with a sweep of balm, and went easy on contouring and blush. You can see the full look, along with what I wore that day, here. I just ran errands, but sometimes it’s nice to be a little more done up to run around.
