I busted out another sheer floral piece in October (and found yet another random outfits look on a memory card), and layered it up to make it fall-friendly. This was a weekend look, and one that was perfect for spending the afternoon outside enjoying some absolutely incredible cars. I layered the sheer dress over a long-sleeved, lighter-weight, midi sweater dress and tights. Because we were going to be walking around, I opted for my thrifted Nike Cole Haan booties, which were stylish but comfortable enough to spend the afternoon on my feet in.
I went with what was “safe” in terms of jewelry and wore stuff I’d been wearing. My skull ring and the stack of necklaces I’d been wearing worked well for this outfit, as it had the past two random outfits looks I shot.
Here’s a look at the necklaces, all from Stella & Dot, along with a pair of dangly skull earrings I got on 9th & Elm (no longer available, unfortunately… also, that’s a referral link, which will get me credits if you click on it and join the site).
Here’s a top-down look at the boots. I found them at my favorite thrift store, Savers, for just $14.99 I believe. They were like new, and retail for over $125, so it was a great find. They’re really nice, and go with virtually everything.
I loved this look!
It was so easy and care-free, but I still felt like a total rockstar in it. I was a bit worried about how I’d feel when I got this dress, because it seemed a little out there compared to what I’d normally gravitate to, but I liked the sheer and the dark florals, and it turns out, it’s right at home in my closet. If you dig it, it’s a Forever21 web exclusive and you can get it here.
