Random Outfits: Altuzarra for Target Maxi Dress with Cutout Booties

So when the Altuzarra for Target line launched there were a couple things I wanted, and one of them was the maxi dress. My store didn’t have it, so I tried on another dress and just ordered this one online in the same size. It fits perfect and I quite enjoy wearing it.  I wore this both out for dinner for a friend’s birthday, and to work a few days later. The outfit was essentially the same, but for work I tossed on a cardigan because I always freeze in the office. This pin was directly responsible for this outfit. In fact, I’ve had it pinned for ages and was thrilled when I tried this dress on and realized it would be a perfect dress to duplicate that look with! Here’s my take on the look…

So in addition to the dress, the booties, and the cardigan, I added my black glasses, my burgundy clutch, and a few little baubles to glam it up. Everyone at work as all “ooh you fancy” but I didn’t care! I loved this look and would wear it again in a heartbeat (which, really, I did since it was just a couple days after wearing it the first time). I had something after work this particular fall day that made dressing up necessary, and I haven’t had a reason since. But I’m looking forward to playing with it over the next couple weeks as we get into the holiday season.

I couldn’t resist showing a little leg (and my undercut) off for a shot.

Here’s a closer look at my boots… a pair of knock-offs. They’re made to look like the Balenciaga cut out booties that are something like $1200. I picked these up online at GoJane (where they’re sold out) for around $30 I believe. I love them, and kind of regret not getting a matte black finish also. But the burnished burgundy filled a void in my closet, and if i had two pairs I’d likely only wear one of them all the time.

My accessories include some pieces from Stella & Dot, including the gold Christina Link bracelet. An all out arm party would work well with this, but I can’t deal with that much going on on my wrists at work. It bugs me.

My necklaces are a mix of an old piece I got at a garage sale as a kid, and two Stella & Dot pieces. Once I discovered how nicely part of the Aria pendant and part of the Trinity pendant layered, I wore them together often.

As I mentioned above, I loved this look and can’t wait to wear it again… again.  I’m also thinking this dress will be great with my navy Monroe and Main boots, and with a pair of flat burgundy riding boots I have. Or perhaps with glittery silver tights and black dress shoes. Lots of options, I think!
