Focusing on Color for Fall with Monroe and Main (Plus a Giveaway!)

This is a Fashionista Event Opportunity, and is hosted by Still Blonde after all these YEARS and Modly Chic.

Color never goes out of style, and at Monroe and Main you’ll find the latest pops of color in the form of rich tones and saturated shades showing up as chic accents and making bold statements… perfect for the upcoming fall season!

I love fall, and am ready for the season of all things pumpkin! Reality is, I’m more excited about fall fashion than pumpkin-flavored everything though, because I can’t get enough of layers, rich colors, and lots of texture. Plus, it’s so much easier to dress appropriately for the office and outside in the fall–the inside and outside temperatures are closer.

While fall is a reminder that winter is coming, there’s no reason to ignore the great colors and textures the season brings us! This fall, color is in, in, IN, and Monroe and Main’s Fall Collection is a perfect way to get inspired to transition into cooler weather gracefully. The collection is full of bright colors, rich hues, and silhouettes that are anything but dull.

Navy is the new black!

For years black knee high boots have been a fall wardrobe staple for me. I’ve been wearing black knee high boots since high school, so they’ve been a part of my wardrobe for over half my life at this point. Why? Well, knee high boots are perfect for fall… they work great with leggings and look fab over skinny jeans. They’re equally chic under bootcut jeans as they are with skirts and dresses. You can wear them to the office or dress ’em down for hanging out with friends. You get the idea… the bottom line is that knee high boots are the perfect footwear choice for fall!

But forget black this fall, and consider investing in a navy pair of boots for a subtle pop of color. Something tells me we’re in for another long, cold winter this year, so there will be plenty of time to sulk in varying shades of black, but fall? Fall is for enjoying the crisp days, the cool nights, and all things pumpkin color! So set your black boots down and take a walk on the navy side with these great Woven Buckle Boots from Monroe and Main!

Styling navy boots for fall is easy!

I threw together two quick looks to demonstrate the versatility of Monroe and Main’s navy Woven Buckle Boots.  The first look is an easy casual look that’s great for running errands on a crisp fall weekend. I paired the boots with black leggings and a sweatshirt dress, along with my purple crossbody bag. Since I have a great pair of navy glasses, I added those to the look, and finished it off with a high ponytail. It’s easy, relaxed, and totally chic, especially with the addition of the great textured knee-high boots.

Check out the beautiful texture of these boots! They really are just wonderful to look at, with the dimension of the color and the woven texture. The big gold buckle adds a touch of glamour as well, and the block heel is about 3″ high, which means it’s high enough to be sexy, but not painfully high or hard to walk in. The slightly rounded toe is a nice shape that definitely makes these boots easy to dress down or up, as you’ll see next.

I wanted to show off a great dressed-up look too, so I pulled out a beautiful A-line skirt that I’ve been saving for fall since I thrifted it at the end of spring.  I added grey sweater tights, because navy and grey work very nicely together, and pulled my navy trench coat out of the closet.  For a top, I actually donned a bodycon dress–my skulls-and-galaxy dress, which is full of great colors–and then I added a royal blue necklace along with my Stella & Dot Sommervell piece. I pulled my hair into a low ponytail, popped a grey cap on my head, and shortened the strap on my purple crossbody so it was more of a totebag.

What a city-chic look right?  I felt like I should have been walking the streets of downtown Chicago in this pretty fall look, instead of hitting one of my favorite outfit shooting locations in the ‘burbs, but oh well.  Perhaps I’ll just have to take a trip into the city to show this look off when fall gets here!  I love how easy these boots worked with this skirt, which is a tricky length and wouldn’t work well on me with flat boots.

Love the look of navy boots, but want more options? Monroe and Main has you covered, with everything from ankle to over-the-knee in varying shades of navy! A perfect fall pick-me-up that will have you craving more color this season. Check out these navy boot options…

Navy Boots & Booties from Monroe and Main

Monroe and Main has nine great boots and booties in various shades of blue that are perfect for injecting a little color in your fall wardrobe. The navy Restricted California Bootie is great if you love shorter boots and lower heels! It would be cute with leggings and skinny jeans alike, and would be easy to take into winter as well, since it’s a flat.  The Andiamo Vittoria Boot is a bit more subtle when it comes to navy, with a navy and silver snakeskin print, but it is another boot that’s full of great texture and is easy to dress up or down. The cowgirl-inspired Spring Footwear Kylynn Boot is a more playful bootie that will do double duty in fall with leggings, and in spring with floral print dresses. The Dolce Commander Boot by Mojo Moxy is a great fall-through-winter knee high boot, with it’s motorcycle-inspired look and flat lug sole. Perfect to wear with leggings, skinny jeans, or even skirts and tights. The rockstar in me loves the Flower Stud Bootie, with its gold studs and triple buckles.  A year-round bootie that works great with skirts at the office and shorts at a music festival. If you’re on the hunt for over-the-knee boots, the Back Ridge Tall Boot by Seventh Avenue should be in your closet like, now! A riding boot that has chic gold detailing and is perfect for fall and winter alike. Another super chic boot is the Midnight Velvet Big Square Bootie. This is the perfect work-to-night-out bootie that will look just as chic with boot cut slacks as it will a little black dress and tights. The last pair of navy knee high boots, the Beacon Shana Boot, has a lower heel and a studded detail that keeps it from being too plain. And last but not least, the Bijou Donna Bootie, a pair of faux calfhair booties in navy with black spots that a totally spot on (see what I did there) for the more daring in the bunch looking to add navy to her fall shoe collection.
