I’d been wanting a shirt that said “poser” for ages, and while it was much more applicable when I modeled, I couldn’t resist making one when I redid the SSC logo and ordering it–it was cheap enough during a sale at VistaPrint. I’d worn it a few times in a couple rather uninspiring ways, but finally shot it when I wore it over a floral maxi dress. So here’s that random outfits look from way back on June 6.
Yea, I’m a Poser
This maxi dress is one I’ve had for a few years. It’s one of those pieces that I got back and forth on every time I clean out my closet and ultimately end up keeping because I don’t have anything like it, and it’s pretty effortless to wear. It’s from Forever21, and they have a ton of print maxi dresses now that are similar enough. I typically end up putting something over it, like this t-shirt, because it’s spaghetti strap and I don’t like wearing spaghetti straps to work. June 6 was a workday, but I took the afternoon off to run some errands, so I kept things pretty easy and casual here. Under the maxi, I wore tribal print sneakers, and then added my Stella & Dot Sommervell necklace and a tribal-inspired necklace that’s also older and also from Forever21 (similar here). So here’s the whole look… complete with me being a dork and my laughing at Trixie being a goof (not that you can tell in the shot below, but that’s ok).
Here’s a closer look at the shirt and my necklaces. The font, if you’re curious, is “Come Party” off of DaFont, my favorite place to find fonts. Nothing super complicated here, really.
And a peek at my shoes, which I snagged on sale at Forever21 a few months ago. I wore them quite a bit when I first got them, but haven’t worn them much lately. I’m sure that will change as fall rolls around though. I did kind of like the tribal print with the florals here, even though you really couldn’t see my shoes unless I made an effort to move the skirt out of the way (which I’m doing below).
This outfit was alright.
It served its purpose, I suppose, but I’m not sure I’d wear it again. I got a few compliments while wearing it, but mostly on my combination of necklaces, which I did like quite a bit. But overall, I’m just kind of “meh” about this look. Maybe it is time to just get rid of this dress? I dunno… we’ll see how I feel about it the next time I clean out the closet.
