This Thursday, I’m honored to be walking in the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce (NKCC) Women in Business (WIB) Fashion Show! The WIB Fashion Show is the final event of the school season, and is a perfect way for everyone to kick off the summer in style. But, it’s also a drive for final donations for the NKCC Women in Business Dollars for Scholars scholarship fund. I’ll be getting my hair and makeup done by the fabulous folks at Bii Hair Salon, and I’ll be wearing a great day-to-night look from Romantica Boutique.
About the NKCC and the Women in Business Dollars for Scholars Program
The Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce is an advocate for commerce, industry and development in the northern Fox Valley villages of Carpentersville, East Dundee, Gilberts, Sleepy Hollow and West Dundee, IL. The NKCC Women in Business Dollars for Scholars program is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to the continuing education, development, mentoring and improvement of chamber members. The Dollars for Scholars fund provides scholarships for high school seniors and college students affiliated with the Northern Kane County Chamber or residing in the NKCC area.
The number and dollar amount of scholarships awarded is related to the organization’s fundraising total each year. In May of 2012, three $1,000 scholarships were awarded to students in the area! Pretty cool, and even though I’m technically not a resident of the NKCC area, I’m really excited to be able to take part in helping the organization raise money to help kids go to college… and I get to do it by doing something I love to do!
Fashion Show Details
The show costs $30 to attend if you’re not a member of the NKCC (if you are it’s just $20) and includes a swag bag. The show will be taking place at the Randall Oaks Golf Club, with registration starting at 11:30AM. RSVPs were supposed to be in yesterday (which I hadn’t noticed before, unfortunately) but if you really want to come, try emailing email@example.com or calling 847 426 8563 and they might be able to hook you up.
If you can’t make it, don’t worry!
I’ll be instagramming throughout the day, so just keep an eye on my Instagram for fun behind-the-scenes shots and all sorts of other fun stuff. I’ll be up bright and early (I have to be at Bii at like, 8A, which is usually around the time I wake up for work) so if you can’t make it to the show, get up early with me and stalk my Instagram throughout the day.
