This is a Fashionista Event. I was given a promotional item to review by 9thandElm.com so that I would be able to best share my opinions about the website. All opinions are my own.
Yup, another place to support small designers, find unique items, and get great deals! I know many of you have been lusting over my rose gold “Rachel” necklace (and a few who think I should have just gotten “Carrie”), and a couple of the other goodies I’ve shown off a couple times on Instagram, and now you finally get to officially see where I found them… and enter for your chance to win a great prize from the very same website! That website? None other than 9thandElm.com!
What is 9thandElm.com?
9thandElm.com was founded by Clay and Elly Bethune in the spring of 2013. Their mission is to bring 9thandElm.com members fabulous fashion from the best handmade and independent designers. Clay and Elly realize how difficult it is to sort through and discover handmade fashion geared towards the “fashionista”, and at 9thandElm.com, you don’t have to worry about it. That’s right, your search is over! 9thandElm.com offers exclusive deals handpicked by their buyers, delivered daily to your inbox. 9thandElm,com is a multiple designer site, which means tons of variety, great gift ideas (the holidays will be here before we all know it), and always something to fall in love with!
And fall in love I did!
Sites like 9thandElm.com make me feel like a kid in a candy shop. Seriously. I go on a total shopping spree, adding everything I think I might want to my cart, without paying attention to price or anything. That’s exactly what I did the second I joined 9thandElm.com. I knew that the designer sales wouldn’t last forever on 9thandElm.com, but imagine my surprise when after deciding I probably couldn’t get all 25 things I added to my cart, I went to my shopping cart to discover a countdown after each item! That’s right… you have a limited amount of time to purchase an item, and then it disappears from your shopping cart! It’s an hour, which really should be ample time for the average shopper, and not someone like me who can’t make up her mind. But you know what, I made up my mind, and fast!
I decided I’d get the “Carrie” necklace in rose gold (to match my new watch) and a dreamcatcher tank top dress. And then, someone I sent an invite to signed up, and I got an extra $10 to spend, so I picked up a ‘grab bag” type necklace, only knowing that I would get one of 4 available designs. When it came, it was an adorable double chevron that’s very military-inspired. So me! And it looks great with my “Rachel” necklace too. Anyway, since the deals don’t always last, you aren’t able to get the same tank I did… but there’s plenty more to love at 9thandElm.com.
Ordering is easy, and shipping is fast!
Once you realize your cart empties itself after an hour, shopping because fast and fun. The variety of items and price points that 9thandElm.com offers is amazing, and like I said, there’s something for everyone and some great gifts to be had. And new items and designers are constantly being added. But jump on things you like fast, because after a few days in many cases, they’re gone!
When you do order something though, your order is processed fast. 9thandElm.com sends your order out to the designers, and all 3 designers that I ordered from processed things quickly and seamlessly. I got shipment notifications for each item and all of my items came lightning quick, which is great! Each one was wrapped special with my 9thandElm.com order form right in the package, so I knew that what I got came from the site, but also from an independent designer. And I tell you, the more great, unique pieces I get from independent designers, the more I love buying from them!
What’s more? Great customer service, that’s what! I noticed on my order confirmation that my address was incorrect. I fired off a quick email to the folks at 9thandElm.com to remedy the situation, and I heard back within minutes from a customer service rep who not only assured me that she’d get it all straightened out, she thanked me for noticing the mistake and wished me a happy weekend. Little things like that really make new sites like this stand out, and certainly have me looking there more when I’m itching to shop for something different.
Styling it all.
For me, necklaces are pretty easy to style–alone or layered, they just work. The rose gold “Rachel” necklace is really no exception. It looks great by itself, and is a perfect way to add a little sparkle to an outfit for work, especially when that outfit is already a little on the bold side. It’s also fun to toss into a layered look… not only is it my only rose gold necklace I own, but it’s dainty and different from most of the other necklaces I usually layer with, which adds a whole new dynamic to the layered look. Here it is styled just two of the many was I’ve worn it. This necklace has made it into my almost daily rotation. I adore it!
And the chevron necklace is very similar, being easy to wear alone or layered. The antiqued brass finish is another one I don’t have much of in my jewelry pile, but does find its way into other facets of my clothing. So I was excited to be able to tie this metal in this way as well. Here it is layered with a simple crystal necklace and my long claw necklace, which I wore with my dreamcatcher tank. The tank is nice and long, making it perfect for leggings. I added my plaid tunic, olive military vest, and went totally mis-matchy and added teal leggings. I finished it all off with my black combat boots, of course. A great look, despite the fact that none of it actually matched. It all just worked together.
I chose this tank because of the length, for one, and also for the silk-screened dreamcatcher art on the front. I don’t have much in the way of tanks this length, and I certainly don’t own anything with a dreamcatcher on it. It’s unique, and kind of has that festival vibe going for it. It’s nice and soft, and fits me pretty well. It’ll be a good layering piece for the rest of fall, and will be fun to style in the summer. I could even get away with wearing this tank as a beach cover up, since it’s longer. It’s a fun, versatile piece that’s awesomely unique.

My current 9thandElm.com favorites.
The chevron necklace and the dreamcatcher tank are no longer available at 9thandElm.com, which kinda sucks if you want to buy them. But there’s a ton of other awesome stuff available, and I actually look forward to getting the emails to see if there’s anything else I’m itching to add to my wardrobe. Right now, I’m totally digging the Everything Dies Original T-Shirt Dress, the Igor clutch, these blue and black seamless leggings, and this houndstooth monogrammed tumbler. If you dig ’em too, you should probably buy before they go away!
