Day 14 of the 21 Day Challenge brought copycatting.
When I did this the first time, I copied a look of Gwen Stefani’s that I loved (and still do).
While I had a ton of looks saved on my Dup-A-Look board, I wanted to do something that was more “my own twist” instead of just “copy exactly”. So that’s what I decided to do. I wanted to remix that polka-dot dress I chose on Day 1, so I looked for outfits that would work with that. I found this look on Pinterest, and after some searching found the original at Sincerely Jules, and it was perfect!
Check out the look.
I wore my black and white polkadotted dress under a grey oversized sweater. I added my skully scarf and a horn necklace, just like Julie did, and wore sheer black tights, black OTK socks (ok, ok, they were actually legwarmers pulled up a little higher), and my brown boots. I don’t own a white bag, so I just used my black one that I’ve been using. I borrowed a window full of plants for the pic, because, well, why not? I wasn’t able to get outside during daylight hours, so snapped this quick on a break.
I liked this look, and am not sure it’s something I’d have put together on my own. It worked out, despite it being a bulkier piece over an A-line. It was a pretty easy, work-friendly look that I felt confident and comfortable in. I liked my take on it, and also liked that I didn’t have to feel pushed to duplicate it exactly, like I tend to do with my Dup-A-Look series.
So that’s day 14 of this round of the 21 Day Challenge.
