21 Day Challenge, Day 7: Layers. Onions have layers. Ogres have layers… SSC has layers!

The task on day 7 of the 21 Day Challenge was to layer accessories.

The first time, I layered a scarf with a long necklace.  It wasn’t the first time I’d layered accessories, and certainly was not the last, but I wore things I hadn’t worn in awhile for it, so I felt accomplished.

This time around, I layered multiple necklaces and a scarf.  Layering up like this isn’t new to me at all.  I frequently layer scarves and necklaces, multiple bracelets, and even belts (like you saw Day 5), so this wasn’t really all that challenging for me.

Originally, I was planning on wearing my black long sleeved tee with the scarf and the 3 different necklaces, but I changed my mind at the last minute and added the olive sweater–just another layer, right?    Overall, a pretty simple outfit.  Jeans, OTK boots, the black top, the olive sweater, my skully scarf, and a cascade of necklaces.  Two of the necklaces are 3 strands, and the third I added in to have an odd number (seriously) and because it’s a good extra texture in there.

Check out the look.

21 Day Challenge: Day 7

This outfit was a success, but another one I felt was “too easy”.  But I was tired and not really in the mood to come up with something super complicated to wear.  It’s something I’d wear again for sure, and I liked that, despite it being a really simple outfit, it wasn’t boring.

So that’s day 7 of this round of the 21 Day Challenge.

What do you think?  Do you layer accessories often?  Share your thoughts in the comments.

Whenever I see layered necklaces like that I want to do it myself! But then I can’t quite figure out how to do it with the ones I own. I need a jewelry consultation!

It helps that I was using already-layered necklaces I think. If you have any like that, perhaps start with those.
