The A-to-Z’s of SSC

Fellow blogger Valarie of The Style Files did this, and I really enjoyed reading all of her answers. While some of the stuff is stuff you might know about a fellow blogger, quite of bit of it isn’t, and I thought it was a fun look into her life.  So I figured, for a little something different, I’d do it too.

The A-to-Z’s of Suburban Style Challenge

Age: I’m 30.  And totally ok with it.
Bed Size: Hubs, the dog, and I sleep in a Queen size bed.  So for the dog and I, it’s about the size of a Full, ha!
Chore You Hate: Cleaning the bathroom, followed closely by doing the dishes.  Also not a huge fan of laundry.
Dogs: One, Trixie, our beautiful rescued mutt, who was saved by the shelter we got her at a mere 3 days before she was scheduled to be euthanized.  She was 8 months old when we got her in July of 2009.

A-to-Z of SSC: Trixie

Essential Start To Your Day: Snooze button, snuggles, snooze button, more snuggles.  But mostly, I can’t function if I don’t brush my teeth in the morning.
Favorite Color: I hate this question… there are so many colors I love, especially because I make my living working with color.  But I wear a lot of black, so let’s go with that.
Gold or Silver: I used to be an only silver kind of girl, but I’ve been mixing in all kinds of metals and finishes lately.  Still, pieces like my engagement ring, wedding band, and dress watch are silver/platinum/white gold, because overall, it’s what I prefer.

A-to-Z of SSC: Mixed Metals

Height: 5’4″ and a little extra.  I tend to round up to 5’5″.
Instruments You Play:  I can tinker a little on the piano, but really, none.
Job Title: Senior Graphic Designer
Kids:  None.  No plans for any.
Live:  Suburbia, 100%.  I’ve never been a city girl, and am quite happy being the occasional visitor.  I actually wouldn’t mind going a little farther out to an even quieter ‘burb, but where we’re at right now is nice and convenient, so it works.
Married: Since 2009, after 9 years together.  Hubs and I have been together 13 years this year!  As corny as it sounds, he’s my best friend.

A-to-Z of SSC: Wedding

Nicknames:  Rach, Rachakin (a Mom and Dad exclusive), Squid
Overnight Hospital Stays: When I was 2 I had major surgery… I was in the hospital for quite awhile.
Pet Peeves: Misspellings and grammar mistakes on business items (like menus, flyers, and business cards), people who act like total jerks when they’re drunk, people who push their beliefs (religion, eating habits, the need to have babies) on you, and people who think I’ll design them something for free.  Also, the word “moist”.
Righty or Lefty:  Righty, though when I was in Hebrew school, I was actually better at writing Hebrew with my left hand.  Weird.
Siblings:  One, a younger brother.
Time You Wake Up:  Anywhere between 7:30 and 8.  Usually closer to 8.
University Attended:  Bradley.
Veggies You Dislike: Eggplant.  I’ve tried to like it, I really have… but I just don’t.
What Makes You Run Late: My love for a warm, comfy bed and a snuggly dog.  Also unexpected bad traffic, and occasionally, bad planning.
X-Rays You’ve Had:  Way too many to count (especially if you count CAT scans and MRIs).  In addition to the surgery I had when I was 2, I was pretty sick in college and had to undergo quite a few tests.  I also get dental X-rays regularly.

A-to-Z of SSC: X-ray Ok, that’s Trixie again… but I couldn’t find any pics of my own X-rays.

Yummy Food: Pizza.  I could eat pizza every day for a week and be ok with it.  And I’m pretty sure I could eat my weight in Deerfield’s Bakery buttercream frosting.  Ok, not really my weight… but it’s one of the yummiest things ever.
Zoo Animal Favorite: The polar bears.  I remember standing watching them swim and push off the glass when I was a kid and loving it.

So there you have it.

That was fun! I’m totally jealous that you get to sleep until 8. I have to be up by 6:30, 6:45 at the LATEST.

Yea, I changed my schedule to start at 9A when my boss was on the west coast. It’s stuck through the various other boss transitions, and means traffic is always better for me.
