As you know, Jewels for Hope was one of my prize sponsors for the 2013 Spring Fashionista Event. In addition to providing one lucky winner with their choice of Rockstar Charity Bracelets, they sent me my very own custom version!
When I was discussing with Stevie what my giveaway prize should be, I had a hard time choosing something.
Honestly, I loved pretty much everything on the Jewels for Hope website, so it was hard to just pick one thing. When I explained my recently-decided-on Rock Star style profile to her, she immediately came back with “how about the Rockstar Charity Bracelet” and sent me a link. It was like it was meant to be! I loved it, and was really excited to be able to choose my own colors.
But what colors to pick? I did a very short survey on Facebook, and sent a handful of friends messages, asking what colors described my style. Because I was impatient and didn’t want to wait too long, I used the very small sample of results to decide on what I wanted colors I wanted Jewels for Hope Rockstar bracelet to be.
It was a hard decision. Initially, I was going to go with a teal base with a yellow bead. But then I realized I had a teal bracelet. I didn’t think I’d like an olive bracelet as I thought it would look a little muddy. Black, I decided, was too boring. I thought about pink, but didn’t want something overly girly. And then it hit me: red. I own very few red pieces, because when I was platinum, it just didn’t work for me. But now that I’ve gone back to my natural color, red works great on me, and I’ve been trying to wear it more. So I chose a red with slight pinky undertones, and a single “pop of yellow” bright yellow bead, with small grey beads as my filler, and black cord.
Holy cow, it was perfect!
When my Rockstar Charity Bracelet came in the mail, I knew I’d get a lot of wear out of it. It was me, through and through, and worked with everything in my closet. Here’s the picture of it the day it came–I put it on right away with my watch and olive green sweater.
Since then, I’ve worn it nearly every day.
It’s showing some wear, yes, but I like it even more now that it’s well-loved. It really does work with pretty much everything I have, and seems to be really easy to dress up and dress down.
Right now, my favorite way to wear it is with a similar purple bracelet I have, on the same wrist as my watch. Sometimes I’ll add another bracelet, or my leather wrist cuff. Sometimes, I won’t. Here it is three different ways, all of which have made their way into my regular rotation.
Every time I wear it, I get complements.
So, if you’re looking for a great bracelet to add some sparkle and personality to your outfits, the Rockstar Charity Bracelet is a great way to go. Even if you don’t get a custom one and you get one of the great versions they already have made up, I’m sure you’ll find this piece is the perfect way to add just a little somethin’ somethin’ special to your outfit!
Thanks again to Jewels for Hope for sponsoring SSC during the Spring Fashionista Event, and for creating such a perfect bracelet for me!
