The thing I love about weekends is not having to worry about the dress code at work. That means I can wear shorts, shorter skirts, and pretty much anything else I want without having to worry about getting in trouble. And for my 19th dupe, I decided to take advantage of that! I wore this Saturday morning through the late afternoon and while it was a little chilly, it was a fun outfit to be in while at the local pumpkin farm looking for the perfect pumpkin to carve. Now, I did end up changing into something that wouldn’t get ruined if I got pumpkin guts on it, but I’m sure you understand.
This is another look I pinned ages ago, and it’s from What Would a Nerd Wear originally. I knew when I saw it I had stuff to make it work, and while I did, I’m disappointed I didn’t have a better belt… but perhaps that’s because I quite like WWaNW’s belt. I wore a lace dress from Forever21 with a aburgundy open cardigan from Target. I don’t have a black knit scarf of any kind, so I went with the “lighter on dark” look and used a purple infinity scarf I have (another Forever21 find). My belt is from Discovery, my socks are ancient, and my boots were probably from UrbanOg. My watch is Fossil, though I got it at Marshalls.
Overall, I’m pretty pleased with the way this look came out. I wish my scarf was as big and chunky as hers, but oh well. Again, not a work-friendly outfit (skirt is too short), but perhaps one I can use my longer white cotton dress (from DAL16) with. This was a good fall look though, and I liked it. The colors, though all items from last fall/winter, are also all on trend for fall, which was really nice too.
What are your thoughts? Is this something you’d wear? How do you think I did with the dupe?
