Dup-A-Look 16

Another look from District of Chic made its way off my screen last week, surprise surprise. I wore this on Friday, and it was the perfect way to end the week.  Comfortable, but still elegant-looking.

While DOC’s look was just a cream-colored dress, I wore white and added a cream cardigan over for a little extra in-office comfort (though I wore my jacket most of the day).  I went with black ribbed tights and my DIY glitter boots.  While not a perfect match for her lovely wedge booties, the shape was similar and the glitter worked for me.  Plus, insoles were a must for me after so much time in heels.  I even went with a red lipstain, which is so unlike me… but it didn’t really bother me like I thought it would, and it stayed on for most of the day.  Perhaps something you’ll be seeing more of?  We’ll see.

Dup-A-Look 16 The only thing I missed was the necklace, but in the shot I pinned from Chictopia, I thought it was a toggle from her jacket.  I found myself wishing for one as I looked in the mirror, and I should have gone with my instinct.  Oh well.

Like I said, this was a great outfit, and one I loved.  I’ve been struggling with styling this white dress.  Part of me wants to just dye it.  But then there are looks like this that work with it so nicely, I just can’t bare to do it.  So for now, I’ll be leaving it white and perhaps trying out more layers and variations of this look with it as fall goes on.

Posing similar is half the fun, haha! I’m for sure doing it again this month, because I had such a good time with it 🙂

Thanks 🙂 The white dress is SO hard! I’ve had it for about 5 years, and wear it maybe twice a year… but I love it so much I just can’t part with it. On the plus side, the infrequent wear has kept it nice and clean LOL!

It was SO much fun! I had a blast. And yes, I do have a ton of clothes, even after a rather large closet clean out. I need to get rid of more, but have been trying to wear stuff I hadn’t in the past too.

I wouldn’t have done it either if not for the dupe! It wasn’t something that seemed “right” to me, you know? But it worked so nice!
