Dup-A-Look 13

Tuesday, September 25 proved to be an interesting day for a dupe. I knew going into the challenge that it would be, but it was a bit tougher than I thought it would be. See, I worked all day, and then had to head to my aunt’s for dinner and to temple with the family to celebrate the beginning of Yom Kippur. So I had to be both work-appropriate and temple-appropriate, but also wanted to be able to be in what I wore all day (and well past 10P) without being uncomfortable or having to change (there just wasn’t time).

So I chose to duplicate this look of Rachel Bilson’s, which was pinned from here.  The grey dress, patterned tights, and lovely scarf were taking right from my wardrobe, it seemed, and sure enough, duping this was a cinch!  I wore this Converse One Star dress (thrifted) with a pair of sheer tights with a pair of lace tights over them, which created an effect I really liked and will be doing again.  The scarf was thrifted, and the boots are from Discovery.  I sat thinking about it and was pretty impressed with myself, haha.

Unfortunately, I only had one quick second to snap shots for this look, and forgot to set my camera from normal mode to burst mode, so this is the only shot I was able to grab.  Oh well, it works ok.  I had a black bag (the same studded one I had Sunday and Monday) but forgot to grab it out of the car when I scurried to get this shot.

Dup-A-Look 13 The “orig” shot is from Just Jared and came up when I did a similar image search in Google. I used it because it was bigger than the shot I pinned.

This look was great.  It was nice enough to wear to temple, but comfortable enough to wear all day.  I was even able to wear my insoles with these boots, which was a bonus.  This was the first time I wore the scarf like this (usually I wrap/tie it) and while it looked nice, it kept sliding and I felt like I was going to lose it all day.  It proved to be nice and warm in temple, which got really chilly at one point.  This outfit is one I will probably wear a version of again.  So easy, but nice and chic at the same time.

Thanks! It’s one of my favorite thrift finds… I have gotten a lot of wear out of it.

Thanks! 🙂 And yea… It’s crazy how long it’s gotten! I haven’t had a trim since I went in in May, and the cut was so great that it’s growing out beautifully. I’ve never had an issue with split ends, so no need to cut them off each month, which means it just grows and grows. This month I’m going to start adding biotin to my multivitamin and do more oil treatments so it stays strong through winter.

I love scarves… the best way to add color and texture to an outfit 🙂
