This week’s FBFF is being hosted by Iris over at 260 Days No Repeats. Iris has chosen a visual FBFF that focuses on the Quintessential Fall Outfit, or what each blogger considers her (or his) perfect fall look. This one was tough, because I love fall when it comes to fashion, and I had a hard time choosing what my go-to fall outfit would be. I thought about posting multiple outfits, but I think part of the point of this particular FBFF is to not only post about it, but to post a picture of you actually wearing the outfit, so doing more than one outfit would be silly.
Anyway, I think that my perfect fall outfit is essentially a dress, lots of layers that include a scarf, a cardigan, and warm tights, a hat, and knee-high boots. It’s a versatile base that can be dressed up or down, and can be worn almost every day with different pieces and made to look completely different. It’s also an outfit that can be surprisingly comfortable for lounging around on weekends. Here’s how I’ve put the pieces together today:
I’m wearing a black T-shirt dress over grey sweater tights. I added a purple sweater vest over the dress for a little pop of color and some core warmth, and over that, I have a brown cardigan. I’m wearing knee-high wedge boots, a hat, a scarf, and a small selection of accessories for a little sparkle. I played around with nail polish a little, adding a chunky glitter over a light grey. My makeup is pretty simple, with grey smudgy liner, a little neutral shadow over it, NARS orgasm on my cheeks, and a neutral lip. I’m carrying my fav purple hobo bag, of course.
And here’s a Polyvore set of my outfit, though not all the pieces are exact.
The dress and cardigan are both from Target, as pictured, and the scarf I’m wearing is, indeed, from Forever21. I don’t remember where the tights are from, but the Urban Outfitters ones are a good match. My boots are from Discovery, but very close to the Steve Maddens pictured. The purple vest is from Express (a few seasons ago). My watch is from Charming Charlie (but it’s the same one available on Amazon). My earrings are Charlotte Russe and my hat is from Gap (both are no longer available). I snagged my purple hobo bag cheap at Clothes Mentor. The makeup and nail polish are all accurate, spare the eyeliner, which is Rimmel.
So yea, that’s my quintessential fall outfit. I think I could wear a variation of this every day in fall (if I had enough dresses that were work-friendly, LOL) and be content. Maybe
