What’s in My Bag

I don’t think I’ve ever really shared what’s in my purse before, so this is a new one for me!  When I talk about what is usually in my purse, men tend to look at me funny.  Women often nod in understanding or talk about how they’d never think to carry this or that.  Anyway, without further comment, here’s what’s in my purse…

At the top, we have my bag.  Duh.  Underneath, starting on the top left and moving down, is the following stuff that just gets thrown in there:

  • Tire Gauge
  • Purple ball point pen
  • Red gel pen
  • Pink highlighter
  • Michael Kors perfume and lipgloss
  • L’Oreal HIP lipgloss
  • My keys (car, work, house, hubby’s shop)
  • My parents keys (2 houses)
  • My friend’s housekeys
  • Sunglasses
  • Eyeglass screwdriver
  • Eyeglass cleaning cloth
  • Eiffel tower business card holder (currently has SSC cards, my driver’s license, my debit card, my gym membership card, and my insurance cards it in–it’s my “quick grab” wallet)
  • St. Ives moisturizing lotion
  • A dime
  • Ponytail holder
  • Cell phone
  • Maxi pad
  • New iPass
  • Tiny wallet (holds giftcards, cash and most of my change)
  • Up & Up hydrocortizone cream
  • Breath drops
  • Bobby pins
  • Rose Balm
  • Band-aid
  • 2 Tums
  • Revlon Siren lipstick
  • Advil bottle (has Claritin, Advil, Aleve and Benadryl inside)
  • DQ/Orange Julius coupons
  • Antibacterial foam
  • Lens filters for my point and shoot
  • Hair clip

Surprisingly (or not, depending on who you are) this is actually pretty sparse for me.  I cleaned out my purse a few weeks ago and removed 2 other lipglosses, another lipstain, 2 lipsticks, about $4 in change, 3 bottles of nail polish, 2 protein bars, a mascara, my car’s registration (that went back into my glove box), and some other random stuff.  I also usually carry a couple tampons, but I used them a few weeks ago and need to replenish the stash.  I also always have my point and shoot in my purse, but that was out for me to take the pic, and I can’t find the case right now to have put there in it’s place.

I suppose what’s in a woman’s purse says a lot about her. Though I’m not sure what this says about me.  What do you think it says?  How does what I have in my bag compare to what’s in yours?

🙂 Girlfriend I can relate! I haven’t done one in a while. I used to participate in FBFF but most of the topics didn’t really jive with my blog since I don’t talk a lot about fashion.

So umm yeah about that Michael Korr’s lipgloss and perfume lol how is it? What type of fragrance?
I used to love MK but my bag’s straps are peeling. Whats up with that??? My MK coat is nice though 🙂

Understandable… sometimes I have trouble with the topics even, haha. But that’s ok. The Michael Kors thing is a lipgloss (very sheer peachy color with gold shimmer) and a fragrance (Very Hollywood). I got it at the MK Outlet in Michigan City last weekend. I found it on his website, but it looks like it’s not available: http://www.michaelkors.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod10000001 Couldn’t find it anywhere else 🙁 I grabbed it because it’s a good event item–great to toss into a clutch for a quick freshen up! I have a pair of MK jeans I got at Marshall’s and a MK blazer from Goodwill. The jeans have held up great but the blazer has some snags in it, which is disappointing but  I love his stuff, but generally can’t afford it… even the sale stuff at the outlet was out of my budget 🙁

Mine too 🙁 I get all my name brand items at the outlets. The full retail price of things is just crazy.

Thanks for coming by my blog too. I like your blog. The layout and all so yes I’ll be back.

Have a great day. It’s like 100 here in NY and I’m braving the weather outdoors for a BBQ followed by church.

Thanks for sharing the contents of your handbag. I tend to keep my bag size small which forces me to limit what I carry around – that works best for me.

I think it says you’re practical and always prepared. A tire gage is not something New Yorkers have to worry about haha

your purse is like a survivalist bag, you’re only missing a first aid kit! I am adding a tire gauge to my purse stash asap, good thinking!

Thanks! Believe it or not, it was actually used as a wrapper for a giftcard we got as a wedding gift! Such a clever way to wrap, and green too!

Thanks! I haven’t used it for awhile, since I’ve kind of been switching it up, but it’s still one of my favs. The cross-body strap and the normal shoulder strap totally sold this one for me!
